1. Scope

These Terms and Conditions govern access to and use of the registration platform for the ExoPlanets Porto event, as well as all payments processed through it. By submitting a registration or purchasing any related service, the user accepts these terms.

2. Services Provided

The platform allows users to register for the ExoPlanets Porto conference and, when applicable, purchase event-related services (such as attendance fees or optional extras). All service descriptions, prices and conditions are made available on the website.

3. Prices and Payment Methods

All prices are shown in euros (€) including applicable taxes. The following payment methods may be available:

3.1 Multibanco (MB Reference)

This payment method is only available to users with a Portuguese bank account.
A reference (entity, reference, amount) is generated at checkout, and the user must complete the payment within the indicated deadline. Confirmation may take a few minutes.

3.2 Credit or Debit Card

Credit card payment will only be enabled once the payment provider verifies that the website contains all legally required information. All transactions are encrypted and processed securely by the payment gateway.

4. Delivery of Services

Registration confirmation is delivered by email after payment is validated.
Conference participation is considered a service, not a physical product, and is provided on the dates and location defined by the event organisers.

No physical goods are shipped.

5. Right of Withdrawal (DL 24/2014, Article 10)

For event registrations (a dated service), the right of free withdrawal may not apply once:

– The service has a fixed date, or
– Execution begins within the withdrawal period and the user has confirmed acceptance of this condition.

If applicable and legally allowed, users may request cancellation in writing to: exoplanets6@iastro.pt.
Refunds, when possible, follow the event’s specific cancellation policy.

6. Complaints and Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR/ARB)

 In case of dispute, consumers may use one of the official Portuguese Alternative Dispute Resolution Entities.

7. Data Protection

Personal data is processed according to the GDPR and applicable Portuguese legislation.

Data is used exclusively for:
– Managing registrations
– Issuing invoices
– Communicating event-related information

Data will not be shared with third parties except when required to process payments or comply with legal obligations.

8. Terms Updates

The organiser reserves the right to update these Terms and Conditions at any time.
Changes apply from the date of publication on this website.
